The first idea we offer you is for a great chestnut garland that you can hang on your front door or in the wardrobe as protection against moths. You need a piece of wire, pliers, a colorful bow of your choice, glue, a fixed thread, and of course chestnuts. First you should use the pliers to bend the wire like a hoe. When you’re done, wrap the hook with a loop and fix it with some glue. The next step is to pierce all chestnuts with an awl. Take a needle and a thread and make a chain out of it. Finally, you should tie the hack with the chestnut garland firmly. Decorate as desired with a ribbon or bow. And done! The chestnuts can also be tied in a circular shape, like a wreath – this idea is just perfect for the front door! Look at the photos above – they would give you a better idea.

Chestnuts are a great way to make funny human or animal shapes, and here’s how. It would be very good if your children also help with this task, but do not leave the kids without supervision – there is a risk of injury. To make a chestnut male yourself, you need nothing more than a small round chestnut for the head, a larger one for the body and two with a flat side for the feet. In addition, you also need matches or toothpicks, awl and a few shaky eyes. First you should make holes for the neck, arms and legs with the awl in the largest chestnut. Halve two toothpicks and stick the halves as neck and arms. For the legs use two whole toothpicks. Now you only have to fix your head and legs. In order for the chestnut male looks more beautiful and fun, fix the Wackelaugen on the head with some glue. Made of construction paper, you could also make a hat and even clothes. We wish you a lot of fun!

As mentioned above, with chestnuts you can also make fun animals, jewelery and many other impressive decorations for the home, which would bring home a beautiful autumnal mood. The last craft idea we offer you is to make a chestnut snake yourself, which could be a wonderful toy for your children. Apart from chestnuts, you also need an awl, a thread, two shaky eyes, red construction paper and glue. The chestnuts should be pierced with the awl and made into a chain – just like the first instructions. Then cut out a tongue from the red construction paper and stick it, together with the wobbly eyes, on the head of the snake. Already finished!
