The beautiful gift packaging also plays an important role – it gives the gift an attractive look and makes your surprise even better. That’s why in this article we’ll show you how to pack gifts yourself – below are both conventional and original and unusual ideas that you can use not just for Christmas, but for any occasion. Have fun packing and have a Merry Christmas!
Pack gifts – select wrapping paper and bows
The packaging of Christmas gifts is a pleasure – for both the recipient and the one who packs. And here we try to give you some useful tips for this pleasant and especially creative activity. Let’s start with the choice of gift paper – the possibilities are enormous and the decision depends on both your own and the taste of the recipient. Whether brightly colored paper in the typical for Christmas red, green, silver and golden, or rather restrained nuance with delicate patterns – in the end, it is most important that the gift looks as great as possible. You could also put the accent on the loop by wrapping the gift box in plain paper and embellish it with a colorful gift ribbon. Actually, everything is allowed, what you like, it is only important that the colors are coordinated. With contrasting colors, if skillfully combined, you could also achieve a great visual effect. If you’re not sure what the result would be like, it’s best to place the colors next to each other to see if you like the combination. And if you have the desire to make the gift very original and personal, you can also paint on the paper yourself. For packaging you use better colored masking tape instead of tape – so the result looks a lot interesting!
Gifts for Christmas – practical tips
If you want to wrap the Christmas gifts with colored paper and bows, you should first center the gift box – with the back up, on the paper. Cut the paper accordingly (help yourself with a ruler), making sure there is enough space left and right to allow the paper to reach the edges of the box. Then you should simply fold the paper and fix it with tape – first on the long tops, then on the two short sides. Finally, you should cut off a long piece of gift ribbon and decorate the gift. Finished! This was actually the traditional packaging method, but there are many other unusual ideas you could try – read on!
Make Christmas presents very original
For example, if you want gifts to look original and unusual, you might want to use unexpected types of paper – newsprint, cardboard, even comics. The package can also be wrapped in aluminum foil, shopping bags, cellophane or fabric. As already mentioned, you can paint on the paper yourself, but also write a message on it – for example, congratulations or an inspiring quote. So the packaging will turn into a greeting card!
Gift wrapping with a difference – use unusual materials
When packing, you can also use unusual items that are associated with Christmas – fir branches, acorns, berries, pine cones, Christmas tree balls. They can be attached to the packaging with adhesive, tape or a thread. You could even make little pompoms and decorate the gift with it. Other materials that can help you are: garlands, wire, old stamps, leather strips, shoelaces, etc. The surprise will certainly be much greater if you also choose an unusual gift box – you could, for example, a wristwatch or necklace in a sock wrap or pack a book in a cereal box. Just let your imagination run wild and the result will be unique!
